Homemade Whipped Coffee

So in the last few weeks, I have seen so many Instagramers trying out whipped coffee. I had never heard of it and of course, I was intrigued and had to give it a try. My goodness, I did not realize how easy and delicious whipped coffee was. So I absolutely need to share the recipe with you.

What I didn’t know was that whipped coffee is also called Dalgona coffee. According to Wikipedia, the drink comes from India and it has gone viral because of a South Korean actor named Jung II-woo who visited Macau and was served the drink. He thought it tasted a lot like a honeycomb toffee from Korea called dalgona. He then presented it on a food show and it now has taken social media by storm. This drink has apparently become the drink of the pandemic… Anyways it’s really easy to make your own whipped coffee or dalgona coffee. All you need is instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. You will need instant coffee, brewed coffee will not work.

Combine your ingredients in a bowl and whip it until it creates a light brown whipped cream texture.

Just about ready

Once you have your creamy coffee whip, you can decide what you want to top. For this post, I just filled some glasses with ice and milk and topped it was the whip and sprinkled some chocolate shavings over it. It was delicious but I’m also dreaming of topping brownies with this creamy goodness.

Have you tried making this? What did you think?

Description

This delicious and easy whipped coffee is just amazing. Whether topped over a glass of ice cold milk or on brownies, the flavour is just so rich and creamy.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Instant Coffee
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in a large bowl.
  2. Using a hand blender, blend for 2-3 minutes or until your mixture becomes a whip with medium stiff peaks. You can hand whip it with a whisk but that will take you a while.
  3. Fill a glass with ice and milk and top with the whipped coffee.

Notes

You can make this topping and use it for just about anything. Top your brownies with it, cheesecakes, dip oreo cookies, let your imagination guide you.
