HAPPY NEW YEAR, Friends!!!! I hope that you enjoyed yourself. Chris and I had a quiet new years eve of wine, cheese, and baby snuggles with puppy pets. Each year it seems I make resolutions that I don’t really keep but this year I’m determined to try a little harder. I even wrote them down in my planner with deadlines!

So what do I have planned for this year, TONS. I’ve decided that there are a few things I want to do this year.

Health/Wellness

Complete a Whole90

 Train for half-marathon

Focus on my yoga practice

Join Crossfit, get stronger

Personal

Read one book per month #yearofthebookworm

Pay down debt

Play more guitar

Take a sewing course

Complete the A Beautiful Mess Photography Course

Blog

Post a blog post at least 3x a week

Create a content calendar and treat my blog like a business

Family

Enrol Wendy in Swimming Lessons

Start a college fund for the little munchkin

Plan a date night (or date) at least 2x a month

So those are my goals/resolutions, whatever you would like to call them for 2017. We plan on making 2017 a great year! You can make your new year great too! Just be determined and remember what resolutions you made. To help you stick to your goals, I’m giving away a Creative Year 2017 Spiral Planner by Recollections. If you know me then you know that I’m a bit of a planner addict, I even wrote a review of the Erin Condren LifePlanner, and I think that good planning is key to keeping resolutions. So here’s your chance to win a great planner for the new year! Enter below for your chance.

Do you make resolutions? What are your resolutions for 2017?

Christmas movies

It’s a week until Christmas Eve and our family is getting cozy by our faux fire with bowls of popcorn and mugs of Star Wars blue hot chocolate. We love spending time together during these cold winter months and our favourite thing to do is watch movies together. It’s not a difficult thing to find on television, we actually don’t have cable, we prefer watching Netflix and such, but if you turn on the television, most channels are filled with Christmas movies this time of year. But if you’re looking for some movies to cozy up to with your loved one here’s our list.Read More

Planner Review: Erin Condren LifePlanner

ECLP Review

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I’m kinda sorta maybe into planners…one might say I’m a bit of a planner addict or broke. Either one works. I use to have a planner all throughout high school and loved it. It worked a lot better for me than setting a reminder on my phone. After university and college, my planners days came to an end. I just didn’t make time to update a planner, but that also meant that I kept forgetting some very important things, like the time I forgot about Lady’s vet appointment or my parent’s anniversary. Initially, I tried a few different planners/calendars but none of them seemed to keep my interest until I found Mambi’s The Happy Planner and then Erin Condren’s Life Planner. I use both these planners to track different tasks and events. The Happy Planner I use for my daily life stuff and the Life Planner I use for my blog and tracking ideas, posts, deadlines, etc. Today’s post will be focused on reviewing the Life Planner and given the new year is just around the corner, getting a start on planning my content, isn’t such a bad idea.

Hello friends,

I know it’s been a long time since I gave birth to Wendy, and this post might be quite late but I wanted to make sure I at least let you guys know how the end of my pregnancy went. By the way, it went well. Unlike the first and second trimester, my third trimester was pretty quiet, thank goodness.

What an amazing trip to Walt Disney World

15 Tips for flying with baby

It went by much too quickly. I loved Disney World before, you can ask anyone. I’m an annual passholder…and I live in Canada…I didn’t think Disney could get better, then I experienced it with our little girl. She looked at everything, she smiled, and yes she slept and cried too. But it was so magical. I now have a different kind of appreciation for Disney World. We know she’ll never remember this trip and frankly, that doesn’t bother us one bit. We don’t expect that Wendy will remember many of the trips or things that we’ll do for her when she is young, but I will look forward to living in the moment with her and seeing her eyes widened and smile during those early ages. And isn’t that what it’s all about anyways, living in the moment with your children. So often we look forward to tomorrow that we forget there are still minutes left to experience today. I don’t want to miss an opportunity with Wendy, today will never come again.
