Heading home from a Disney vacation is always sad, at least for our family. So when I was trying to think of what I could make for breakfast one Saturday morning, it dawned on me that maybe I could sprinkle some of the Disney magic on our Saturday morning by serving up one of our favourite breakfasts, the breakfast pizza.

I quickly grabbed one of my Disney Cookbooks and started looking up what I needed to start cooking. Quick tip, if you want to bring some magic home from your next Disney vacation, I seriously recommend buying one of the many Disney cookbooks. I made so many wonderful dishes at home that Chris and I have enjoyed on our trips, and I mean some really good stuff, like a filet mignon inspired by the Canadian pavilion in EPCOT, tonga toast from KONA Cafe, bread pudding from Reglan Road Pub, and so much more. Seriously, these cookbooks are the best souvenirs.

Anyways, this recipe comes from Chef Mickey at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Florida. It’s such a simple and classic recipe and it was a hit at home. I even modified it a bit because the original recipe calls for heavy cream because we didn’t have that at home and I didn’t want to buy a carton of it. We don’t use cream very often so it would be a waste of money. So I used 1% milk instead and it worked perfectly.  All you need are the following:

1 precooked pizza shell
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup provolone cheese, grated
2 eggs, large
1/4 cup 1% milk
dash of salt & pepper
dash of oregano

That’s it. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the pizza crust on a baking sheet
Blend the grated cheeses in a medium-sized bowl and set aside
In a small bowl, beat the eggs and milk together.
Add the salt and pepper and combine the egg mixture with the cheese.
Give the mixture a quick mix and transfer the mixture to the pizza shell and sprinkle a dash of oregano on top

Disney Breakfast Pizza
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese mixture is set and beginning to brown
Remove from oven and serve hot.

You won’t hear any complaints coming from any family member. You can even add bacon bits, sausages, spinach, really anything you’d like. But if you’re looking for some morning Disney magic at your breakfast table, this is definitely the recipe for you. So tell me, have you ever made a Disney inspired dish at home? I would love to see all the yumminess you’re cooking up. Share them on Instagram and tag me in your photo (@withlovefrombex) so I can see your creations!

I don't really do big themes that change from year to year. I find that rather wasteful, instead I focus on stories.
