Chris and I are always stuck for date night ideas. Most nights we tend to sit around at home eat dinner and watch a few episodes of our favourite shows. While that’s great and all, we definitely need to do something more. I know I personally get bored really easily. So to combat the boredom blues, I’ve created our own Date Night jar.

It didn’t take long actually, just a mason jar I had sitting around, a printer and paper…oh and date night ideas.

I came up with some date night ideas, typed them up on a word document, cut them out and put them in the jar. So now when Chris and I can’t think of what to do on Date Night, we just dip into our jar and whatever the slip says, we do. It’s always a surprise and so much fun!

Here are some of our date night ideas:

-Farmer’s market trip
-Write poetry to each other as we enjoy a cup of java
-Exercise together (grab an exercise video and go)
-Have a Geek Night (watch a geek movie, or science documentary, or pull out the video games)
-Go out dancing tonight
-Living room camp-out. Make a tent out of blankets, a movie, some smores, and an air mattress
-Have a Candles only night
-Go indoor rock climbing
-Go to a local pub, order a drink and flirt with each other
-Dessert only date
-Grab a coffee and go explore a bookstore together
-Don’t cook, make it a take out night and eat outside on the grass
-Pick up a cookbook, flip to a random page and cook away
-Watch the sunset from a beautiful location
-Come up with a Family Motto and make a sign for it
-Photograph Safari – drive or walk around town, taking pictures of places that you shared special moments at
-Go see a play
-Find an art gallery in the area and enjoy the work
-Have a tv show marathon
-Visit the zoo, fair, carnival, or a theme park
-Complete a puzzle together
-Go to an Escape room with another couple or two
-Turn down the lights, turn up the music, and dance
-One milkshake, two straws
-Walk to a bakery and enjoy a cupcake together
-Movie theme night. Movie and food must be the same theme
-Go for an evening stroll
-Romantic Breakfast for dinner date
-Go watch a sports game and eat stadium food
-Design your dream house together
-Have soap carving contest! Get your soap on!
-Restaurant hop! Apps at one place, main entree at another, and finally find somewhere for dessert
-Boardgame night and wine
-Set up a tent in the backyard and have a backyard campout
-Plan your dream vacation together
-Slumber party for two (dinner in bed, then dessert…)
-Go donate blood together
-Fingerpainting time
-Cookie Cookoff! Each of you makes a batch and the best cookie wins
-Take a walk on the town
-Drive-in date
-Go to the movie theater, the first movie on the list is what you must see
-Swim, lounge, and enjoy a day at the beach or poolside
-Repeat your second date
-Have a paper plane contest
-$5.00 meal: you both get $5 and must buy ingredients with only that money and whatever you have in your cupboard. Get ready for some interesting meal ideas!
-Go to the park and play on the swings
-Create a cocktail and give it a name
-Go outside and blow some bubbles
-Have a water gun fight
-Bike ride through the park
-Scary movie date
-Paint Portraits of each other
-Split the dish date, one meal for two
-Hike through a beautiful trail
-Wayback Playback – repeat your first date
So go out and have fun with your spouse this Date Night! What do you do on your Date Nights? Do you have any fun date ideas? Share them with me down below, I would love to hear your ideas!

Christmas decor through the years. It's really fu Christmas decor through the years. It's really fun to look back at the years and see my Christmas style evolve. I don't really do big themes that change from year to year. I find that rather wasteful, instead I focus on stories. Pieces that speak to us as a family, ornaments that tell a story either related to an experience or a nod to each of us as individuals. How do you decorate for Christmas?
