The day is finally here! It’s the One Room Challenge reveal day and I’m super excited to share all the prettiness with you. It’s been quite the 6 weeks. I didn’t think it would be as difficult as it was but we made it through and did. So our small uninspiring bathroom is finally made over and is now a relaxing space to enjoy a bubble bath, great book and glass of wine.

Okay in an effort to be totally transparent, there are still some small details that need finishing in our bathroom, like a frame that needs to be hung, and the door needs to be primed and painted, but it’s 99% done. In case you have forgotten what the bathroom used to look like. I’ve added a photo below…

Gross, right? I was even a little embarrassed to post those photos online when I talked about it back on week one. So after a few years of living with that mess, I came up with a plan and signed up for the One Room Challenge.

That was the inspiration and the final product came out way better than I could ever imagine.

There are so many aspects of the bathroom that I love, but I think the real star of the show is the floor. Those floor tiles are amazing. They have really become the focal point of that room. The best part is since it was such a small space, we splurged a bit and installed a heated floor system. It wasn’t difficult at all, after looking up some youtube videos on it. So now we don’t have to worry about cold floors during the winter months, plus Lady, our dog, loves them…I’ve already found her sleeping in the bathroom.

Controlling the heated floors is really simple. We just adjust the temperature on the floor thermostat and wait. Some days it takes longer than others, we’re still trying to figure out why.

There are a few special features that really take this bathroom to the next level.  Like the rain head shower, recessed medicine cabinet, heated floors, and the colour changing sconces. Yup, we added mood lightening to our bathroom.

So we have two different kinds of lights in our bathroom. We installed four recessed pot lights (two over the sink and toilet, and two in the shower area). Those four are on one switch, which is also a smart switch, and we also installed two gold sconces on their own switch with smart blubs. BEST DECISION EVER!

Taking shower karaoke to the next level. I’ll be doing another post on our budget, products, and reviews in the coming weeks, but for now, I’ll just give you a look at our modern and fun bathroom.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be soaking in my new tub check out everyone else’s One Room Challenge reveals.

Christmas decor through the years. It's really fu Christmas decor through the years. It's really fun to look back at the years and see my Christmas style evolve. I don't really do big themes that change from year to year. I find that rather wasteful, instead I focus on stories. Pieces that speak to us as a family, ornaments that tell a story either related to an experience or a nod to each of us as individuals. How do you decorate for Christmas?
