I’m sure I’m not the only mom out there whose daughter is obsessed with Frozen. Wendy discovered Frozen when she was over a year ago and to this day it’s still one of her go-to films. So when it was time to start planning her 2nd birthday party, it was a no-brainer, Frozen Fever it had to be.

Since her favourite character is Anne, I knew that I had to take inspiration from the birthday party Elsa throws Anna. In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, Frozen Fever is a frozen-inspired short that takes place after the first movie. While Stven, Olaf, and Kristof are preparing the castle courtyard for Anna’s birthday party, Elsa takes Anna on a musical journey around the kingdom. She surprises her with gifts at every turn, while trying to fight off a cold that creates mini snowmen when she sneezes.

It’s actually pretty adorable and we enjoy it at our house. So instead of light icy blues and whites, which doesn’t really go with the fall season, which is when Wendy is born, I choose greens, yellows, and sunflowers.

Decor

For the decor, I wanted to keep it simple. Taking inspiration from the short and searching through hundreds of Pinterest images, I created simple sunflower banners to hang on the tables and down behind the tables. These banners were so easy and cheap to make, I actually had most of the supplies at home already. But if you’re looking to recreate this, you’ll easily find all the supplies at your local dollar store or on Amazon.

I also managed to find blue plastic table cloths to put over plain white table cloths that I already owned. The sunflowers I found at Michaels during one of their floral sales, if you can’t find a sale, use a coupon or check your local dollar store.

Food

When it came to food, I kept it light. Mini quiches, coconut shrimps, veggies and dip, and much more. Nothing incredibly heavy.

The dessert table was filled with fun items that made a lot of people laugh. These melted Olaf were super cute and easy to put together. I purchased vanilla pudding cups, candy eyes, pretzel sticks, and mini chocolate chips. I opened each pudding cup, and put two eyes, two pretzel sticks, a candy corn nose, and a few chocolate chips to create this poor Olaf dessert. All the kids loved it and the adults had a pretty good laugh.

I also filled a large serving bowl with blue jello and made an Olaf out of marshmallows, pretzels, candy corn, and black edible marker. He was another hit with kids and adults. White bottles were labelled as melted snow, cupcakes were topped with mini snowmen from Frozen Fever, sunflower cookies, and Wendy’s favourite kind of pie, pumpkin.

The Cake

I made the cake myself. Since we had so many desserts, I knew I didn’t need to make a huge cake, so I kept it simple. Decorated with teal buttercream frosting, details in white, and a big fondant sunflower on the front.

Entertainment

We hired an Anna character to entertain all the kids. I used Ever After Entertainment and she was absolutely wonderful! She read a story, played games, sang a few songs, and even did a mini makeup session for the kids. She stayed in character the whole time and everyone just loved it.

Overall the party was a huge hit with the birthday girl and everyone had a blast.
