Ralph Breaks the Internet Birthday Party

Another year has come and gone and another Disney birthday party has been enjoyed. This year, Wendy asked for a Ralph Breaks the Internet birthday party. Well, she got that and a Sugar Rush.

The cake was a simple vanilla layer cake that I filled with a vanilla frosting but with a surprise. When Wendy cut into the cake, a river of candy flowed out. When I was assembling the cake layers, I used a circle cookie cutter to cut out the centre of the layers, except the top layer. Before I put the top layer on the cake, I filled the empty space with M&Ms, sprinkles, gumballs and other candy, then put the top layer on. Once that was done, I frosted the rest of the cake and covered it in sprinkles…I’m still finding sprinkled everywhere…

Everyone loved it and it was a huge hit with the birthday girl. I then topped the cake with a Wreck-It Ralph toy I found on Amazon.

The cake table was filled with sweets and candy boxes that our guests could fill and take home. I used my IPad Pro and Photoshop to create special phone tags for the take-home boxes. I think they turned out pretty cute.

The cupcakes were inspired by none other than Vanellope von Schweetz. Wanna hear a secret? Those are boxed cupcakes and store-bought chocolate frosting. To thicken up the frosting so it wouldn’t melt, I added 1 cup of icing sugar to the frosting. I piped the frosting and added some Nerdy Nummies sprinkles.

There were more sweets than kids but everyone had a blast and the birthday was beaming through the house and crashed pretty hard when bedtime came around.
