So the other day I was having dinner with a close friend of mine when she mentioned how difficult it is to find something she could eat since she has so many allergies, especially to gluten. So that got me thinking, how could I change up my apple crisp recipe so my friend could enjoy a piece of fall heaven this season. After some experimenting, this gluten-free apple crisp was born, and it was well worth the effort. I actually enjoyed it more than my regular Apple Crisp recipe. Read More

There’s something so sweet and satisfying about the first bite of an apple crisp dessert. It just screams comfort to me and being that I’m a pretty anxious person who loves comfort food, it should come as no surprise to anyone that I have about 4 of these 2 serving apple crisps frozen in my freezer right now. Duktig ikea play kitchen hack customized with pale green paint and gold spray paint

Chris and I searched all over the place for the “perfect” kitchen for Wendy and to be honest, most just fell short. They just didn’t feel like Wendy’s kitchen. So when I was browsing my local Ikea I fell in love with the Duktig Play Kitchen. Mostly because all I could think of was all the ways I could customize it to fit exactly what we needed.  Using leftover paint, and a few extra details this instantly became my favourite Ikea play kitchen hack. It’s been such a hit with my toddler. From the moment she laid eyes on the final product she hasn’t wanted to stop playing with it. Much like her mama, she’ll spend most of her day in her kitchen. Read More

I don't really do big themes that change from year to year. I find that rather wasteful, instead I focus on stories. Pieces that speak to us as a family, ornaments that tell a story either related to an experience or a nod to each of us as individuals. How do you decorate for Christmas?
