I don’t know about you but I am ready for summer. Those hot summer evenings are perfect for sitting outside sipping a caesar cocktail. If you are asking yourself, what the heck is this caesar? Let me describe it as a Canadian Bloody Mary but better. Much better, instead of just plain tomato juice, we use clamato juice. It tastes so much better, at least in my opinion. So if you’re looking for some tasty cocktails this summer, here’s my list. …

Caesar Summer Series: Summer in the City Caesar
Happy Sunday Friends!
It’s that time of the week again, to share another tasty caesar that you absolutely need to try. This time, Chris took to the kitchen and created the ULTIMATE Summer Caesar or as he called it ‘The Summer in the City Caesar.’ It includes a whole lotta food on it. I’m thinking he just couldn’t decided what he wanted to eat for dinner so he made a little bit of everything and topped her caesar with it. Pretty simple, yet brilliantly impressive. So here’s what you’ll need to have this dinner/drink:
- A Tall Glass
- 4 squirts of Lime juice
- 5 squirts of Lemon juice
- 10 squirts of Worcestershire sauce
- Caesar Rimmer
- 3 squirts of Tabasco
- 2 shots of vodka
- enough Clamato Juice to fill the rest of the glass
For the Garnish:
- 2 skewer sticks
- half a mini pizza
- 1 mini slider
- 2 onion rings
- 1 pickled egg
- 1 dill pickle
- 2 baked chicken wings
- 1 slice of bacon
- 1 cherry tomato
How To:
- Pour some rimmer into a small bowl *make sure your glass rim fits in the bowl first* and then pour lemon juice in another bowl. Now put the rim of your glass in the lemon juice and then the caesar rimmer. This will allow the caesar rimmer to stick to the rim of your glass
- Now mix the rest of the ingredients together in your glass, adding the Clamato juice last.
For the Garnish:
- Follow the cooking instructions on all those magnificent foods. Then stick them on your skewers and put them in your caesar glass
- Now enjoy your dinner/drink!

Caesar Series: The Beer Caesar
Hello Friends! I hope the summer is treating you all very kindly. It has been bloody hot on this side of the border….this may be the longest summer I ever experience…at least I have air conditioning, thank goodness. Anyways, today I want to share a drink that Chris highly enjoyed during our trip to Punta Cana.
During most of our travels, we have found it’s actually rare to find a location outside of Canada that serves caesars. Most places serve Bloody Marys but to be honest that’s not the same, at all. Chris and I are complete caesar fans, forget the tomato juice, pass us the Clamato juice and we are absolutely happy. So when Chris approached the swim-up bar at the resort we stayed in Punta Cana and saw a drink with Clamato in it, he knew he had to try it. I don’t remember what they called it but I know it satisfied Chris’ caesar craving. Every bartender there made it differently but the two main ingredients never changed beer and Clamato. So when we got home, it was time to give it a try, with a twist.
I made a trip to the local LCBO, which being in my 2nd trimester I received a lot of dirty and judgemental looks…even though I haven’t touched alcohol since before I was pregnant…anyways, I headed towards the craft beers and decided on the Innis & Gunn Irish Whiskey Cask Beer. I’ve had this beer before I was pregnant, and I actually enjoyed it. It goes down pretty smoothly and has some great flavour. You can really taste the whiskey. Chris and I highly recommend.
So if you would like to create this Beery Caesar at home, here’s what you’ll need:
- A Tall Glass
- 4 squirts of Lime juice
- 5 squirts of Lemon juice
- 10 squirts of Worcestershire sauce
- Caesar Rimmer
- 3 squirts of Tabasco
- 1/2 to 1 bottle of Innis & Gunn Irish Whiskey Cask Beer
- enough Clamato Juice to fill the rest of the glass
- celery stalk for garnish
- Add the celery stalk and mix
- ENJOY!

Caesar Summer Series: Hair of the Dog or Coffee Caesar
Good Morning Friends,
It’s that time of the week again, time to share another amazing caesar with you. This time, Chris took the lead and created his first designer Caesar, or as he refers to it, The Hair of the Dog. If you’re like me, you might be asking what the hell does that mean? Or maybe you totally know what it means and you won’t have to look it up on wikipedia….here’s the link in case you are interested (Hair of the Dog).
Anyways, Chris had found this amazing smelling vodka a few months back while he was browsing through the local LCBO, Tag No. 5 Vodka. It smells just like espresso and according to Chris, has a strong coffee flavour. So this may not be the vodka you use for a Saturday night out or pre-drink nor would you probably drink it straight unless you want to be up all night but Chris immediately thought that it would be the perfect alcohol for brunch or a perfect cure for a hangover. Of course, I could not taste it but it smelt amazing! The perfect brunch drink, it’s coffee inspired and has bacon in it! That’s the stuff brunch is made of. At least in this house. Mind you, if you can’t get Tag No. 5 Vodka in your area, a good coffee flavoured vodka will do just fine.
So here’s what you need:
- A Tall Glass
- 5 squirts of Lime juice
- 10 squirts of Worcestershire sauce
- Caesar Rimmer
- 3 squirts of Tabasco
- 1 shot or more of Tag No. 5 Vodka or any coffee flavoured vodka
- 2-3 shots of brewed coffee
- 2 tsp of bacon maple syrup (we used PC Bacon Maple Syrup)
- enough Clamato Juice to fill the rest of the glass
- celery stalk for garnish
- 1 bacon strip for garnish
How To:
- Pour some rimmer into a small bowl *make sure you glass rim fits in the bowl first* and then pour lime juice around the rim of your glass. This will allow the caesar rimmer to stick to the rim of your glass
- Bake your strip of bacon in the oven at 425C for 25 minutes or until crispy
- Now mix the rest of the ingredients together in your glass, adding the Clamato juice last.
- Add the celery stalk and bacon strip and mix
- Enjoy your miracle hungover/brunch cure
So here’s another Caesar to add to your must-have caesar list. Coffee flavours, bacon, and Caesar is there anything yummier to start your morning.
Caesar Series: Smokey Scotch Caesar
Happy Sunday! I hope you guys are enjoying the wonderful and very warm weather this weekend. I know I am loving and am grateful for the fact that we have an air conditioner! Since summer is starting to feel so close, I felt like now would be a great time to share a new series I have been working on, the Caesar Series! In case you don’t know, a Caesar is the Canadian version of a Bloody Mary. Instead of tomato juice, we use Clamato juice *amazing.* It really is a Canadian classic.
Since I’m pregnant, I don’t drink any Caesar that contains alcohol, but Chris still can and I love making them for him. So the last time he asked me to make him a caesar, I pulled a scotch from his scotch cabinet and let the inspiration flow. Thus creating my Smokey Scotch Caesar!
What you’ll need:
- A Tall Glass
- 5 squirts of Lime juice
- 8 squirts of Lemon juice
- 3 squirts of Liquid Smoke
- 10 squirts of Worcestershire sauce
- Caesar Rimmer
- 3 squirts of Tabasco
- 1 shot or more of Laphoraig Scotch
- enough Clamato Juice to fill the rest of the glass
- celery stalk for garnish
How To:
- Pour some rimmer into a small bowl *make sure you glass rim fits in the bowl first* and then pour lemon juice around the rim of your glass. This will allow the caesar rimmer to stick to the rim of your glass
- Now mix the rest of the ingredients together in your glass, adding the Clamato juice last.
- Add a pinch of caesar rimmer to the actual caesar.
- Add the celery stalk and mix.
- ENJOY!
There you have it. A fabulous Canadian classic with a twist. Just to note, you can use any scotch you have in your cabinet, but I recommend using Laphroaig for this caesar as it has a more peaty taste that mixes very well with the liquid smoke. Chris has taught me so much about scotch, it’s kinda scary….
When I served this to Chris, he absolutely loved it. He said it was the perfect balance of a smokey and sweet flavour, with a subtle whiskey taste. Then it was gone in the blink of an eye….
