So wedding season is fast approaching, and each year I can’t help but think back to the day that Chris and I promised to live by each other’s mutual weirdness for the rest of our lives. Our day was full of laughter, cheers, and good times. Oh and pies, donuts, and hot dogs…just saying. We tried to DIY as much as we could. My girls and I spent hours making ceremony ribbon sticks, collecting books, making a giant gold heart, baking pies. Chris and I made our kissing game wheel (wasn’t as difficult as many would have thought), I baked and decorated our wedding cake, and the list can go on. So I hope you check out the photos below and hopefully it’ll inspire you with your wedding. Enjoy! [Read more…]
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching so I thought I would share some of the Valentine’s Day gifts floating around my house right now. I’ve also included links to pdfs that you can download so that these can float around your home too!! [Read more…]
Can you believe it’s almost Christmas?! Holy holly this year is zooming by. It’s been an exciting year and even though Wendy is too young to understand who Santa Claus is, or even why we have a tree in our living room….let’s be honest, she is just figuring out that her arms and legs are connected to her, I still wrote her a letter from Santa. Crazy? Possibly. But I enjoy it and it’ll be another thing I give to her when she is older and able to understand the things Chris and I did for her. My hope is that when she’s at that magical age of believing, it’ll make it even more magical for her to think that Santa has been writing and watching from the beginning. Or maybe that’ll creep her out a little…who knows.
Since I believe that a child’s imagination should be encouraged, I’m sharing my letter from Santa template with you. I bet that your little one would LOVE to receive a personalized letter from Santa. Here what you do: Download the template, print it out, type your letter on Word, or any other word processing program, insert your printed template into your printer and print your letter. BOOM! Done! Official letter from Sandy Claus. (FYI, when you type out your letter just make sure to leave enough space around the edges so the letter doesn’t print over the template design). [Read more…]
Now that Black Friday has come and gone, I’m sure I’m not the only person left with a bunch of gifts that I need to wrap…and a pretty scary bill… So Sunday I sat down and started wrapping. Here’s what I came up with.
So what do you do when you’re a photographer and you’re pregnant? You take your own maternity photos! That’s what! In all honesty, you don’t need to be a photographer to take your own maternity photos but I definitely think there are a few things that will help you take awesome shots. At least these are some of the tips that helped me take my own shots.
I know that wedding season is slowly coming to an end but I guess I’ve been thinking more and more about our rustic DIY wedding day lately. It’s probably because Baby Girl will be gracing us with her presence soon and it’s amazing to think about how our lives are going to change when she comes. So yes, the day that labeled us partners for life has been on my mind recently so I figured I would share the details of our day with you.
Wow it’s crazy how quickly this year is flying by, it’s already JUNE!! Wedding season is in full gear, well not for me. Chris and I will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary June 21st! Two wonderful and beautiful years of marriage. But I totally remember what it was like planning our day. If you’re like me then it’s a must to add a little pixie dust to your magical day. That’s exactly what Chris and I did. We wanted our wedding day to be a true reflection of us, from handmade favours to homemade pies, to candy bowls on each table. Everything was handpicked by us. Since the Disney Parks seem to be our go to family vacation, although if you ask Chris he would love to see Sandals take that title, we had to include disney touches to our day.
Our house is a constant work in progress but Chris knew this when he bought it. When we first decided to redo our first foyer we knew we wanted it to be inviting, bright and kinda cool. So let me show you what we started with.
No blog would be complete without a ‘during’ photo post. All that hard work and long nights that Chris and I put in to it. I also learned a few things about rewiring lights and outlets. Chris is really handy when it comes to stuff like that.
Finally the after shot!
